Watching the flank

Lake Copeton, Inverell AUSTRALIA

Lake Copeton is the best place that I know of to photograph Eastern Grey Kangaroos in the wild. The kangaroos are used to vehicles and can be photographed from close quarters in natural bush settings if you stay in your car. Animals around the picnic grounds are even more confiding, but the environment doesn’t look as natural as it does elsewhere in the park, in my opinion.

These juveniles were photographed near Buiree Point, from a car positioned to allow the inclusion of the out-of-focus youngster in the background. To finish the presentation I composited other photographs of kangaroos around the frame.
