Wentworth NSW: The Perry Sandhills occupy ten hectares on the floodplain of the Murray River. They are considered to be a part of the ancient Willandra Lakes system that includes the iconic Lake Mungo National Park.

The challenge when we visited was to find pristine ripples. With so much human traffic, footprints clutter the sand. Locals toboggan the slopes on sheets of cardboard, and cardboard litter is common.

My strategy was to find a compact area of untrodden dune and use a wide angle lens to exaggerate its scale.

To make the best of what Perry Sandhills has to offer, it would be best to be the first to arrive after strong winds write new stories in the sand.

The mat for this Tableau™ mount is beige.
