Bandits at 12 O'Clock High

Kooloonbung Creek, Port Macquarie NSW: Fruit bats (flying foxes) leave their roost to spend the night feeding in nearby forests or raiding fruit crops.

Their aircraft-like forms with wing weaponry prompted the title. As a youngster I saw WWII movies and allied pilots of bombers would describe the location of enemy fighters (bandits) with reference to a clock face.

A slow shutter speed and electronic flash were the keys to blurring the flyers and detailing the hanging bats.
