Safety at hand

A young red-necked wallaby (Macropus rufogriseus) stays close to the sanctuary of its mother's pouch. In the wild it would disappear in an instant at a hint of danger and be bound away as a passenger. It's calming to wander among these trusting creatures at Billabong. What I love to do at the zoo ! is capture fragments of the animals. It's one way of making an image more than just another neatly encapsulated record of the animal. The creature becomes part of a design within the frame.
