Wrath of the firmament

Bathurst NSW: I'd been working a few days in Bathurst in late spring. Each day on my way across the bridge over the Macquarie River, I saw the potential of masses of yellow and oranges flowers growing in the sandy flood channel.

One day after work a storm was brewing and I knew my chance had arrived.

With my camera and fisheye lens mounted on a tripod I shot from stage left with a snooted electronic flash.

I like the impression of the flowers looking skyward to the brilliant light of the Creator—like awe-struck subjects.

The storm caught me before I could retreat to the car. The price to pay for a satisfying image in the bag.
