Queens Lake Nature Reserve NSW: A clump of paper daisies near the summit of Jolly Nose Hill is lit by off camera flash. I favour this technique for punching drama and interest into shaded foreground areas of landscape photographs.
To make the flowers the undisputed subject of the photograph, the background—showing Queens Lake and Dooragan with a cap of cloud—has been desaturated (converted to black and white).
The composition is aided by a wide angle lens and diagonal cloud vectors.
