The Hero of Waterloo Pub, The Rocks, Sydney: In the late 1800s, my great grandfather John Smith (Carrier) worked in The Rocks area of Sydney and drank at The Hero of Waterloo pub. My grandfather Ernest Harold Smith (Stevedore) and my Dad (Harold Laurence Smith RAAF), I guess, also drank there.
In October 2011 I took my three sons there with their Mum and we enjoyed a drink at The Hero. "To our fathers, and fathers before". This is a photograph of my three heroes.
