I look fat in this?

A male Little Wattlebird (Anthochaera chrysoptera) puts on a show for another. If the other bird is a male, the display could be a show of aggression or dominance in the pecking order. If the other bird is a female, the display could be intended to impress.

It suited my sense of humour to adopt an anthropomorphic interpretation.

The birds and the dried sticks in the original capture have been superimposed on a blended, textured background comprising of dried leaf litter in a nature reserve, the bark of a eucalypt, and a wind-rippled sand dune.
